Academy’s 1400 Hour Hair Program is an apprenticeship program governed by the Apprenticeship Board of Alberta. This program offers extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience through 1400 hours of technical training at our Salon Campus.
Following successful completion at Academy, Students are often confident and ready to write the provincial exam as soon as they are out of school, Students will then continue and complete their Apprenticeship in a Salon.
Beyond receiving comprehensive and thorough training in all the basics of Hairstyling, we strive to offer our students an edge & advantage in their training. We include extensive advanced classes in Cutting, Color & Up-Do’s, including exciting trends like Balayage (Custom Hair Painting) and ensuring our Student Stylists are pro's at popular finishing skills like Round Brush Blow Outs. We also love to host guest instructors to provide our students with new skills, it is also a great opportunity for students to interface with mentors and successful stylists in the industry.
